What’s more romantic than meeting your future spouse at the wedding of your closest friends? Many entertain the thought of this, but for Rachel and Jacob it’s exactly how their story begins. Jacob was a groomsman in his close friend Landon’s wedding, and Rachel was a bridesmaid for one of her close friends Allie. Landon and Allie get credit for cultivating an environment for love to blossom. Rachel and Jacob had brushed shoulders on their way in and out of Fayetteville, Arkansas and just missed each other as Jacob started school just as Rachel was going away to Baylor for school. They had lived their lives with overlapping circles, but never intersecting. But as fate would have it, years later, their paths crossed one wedding weekend. Throughout the course of the weekend they learned that they both liked to laugh and to dance, and what more do you need to know for a weekend of festivities? As time passed they came to realize that they shared the same faith, values, and love for working with children, among many other things. Though long distance, they decided that they enjoyed their lives intertwined more so than separate, and the rest is history.
Jacob and Rachel are the definition of joyful. Their wedding day, though rainy, was filled with laughter, light-heartedness, and joy. You can’t help but smile around these two, and we found ourselves grinning behind our cameras their entire wedding day. And they clearly know how to make each other smile. Though it had poured rain all day leading up to their ceremony, and there was worry of having to move the festivities inside, the clouds parted just before their first look and the rain held off for the rest of the evening, cooling the July air and making for a perfect environment for their outdoor ceremony. Their celebration took place at Barn at the Springs in Springdale, Arkansas, which is nestled atop a grassy hill beneath a grove of oak trees. In a word, their ceremony was whimsical and their reception was an absolute blast. As the old saying goes, birds of a feather flock together, and we were not surprised that Jacob and Rachel’s friends were as joyful and fun loving as they are. After the couple left, the party continued on and their guests danced the night away. These two are very loved and were celebrated so well. We loved capturing their love, their joy, and their wedding celebration. Here’s to the Jordans!
