Grant first saw Amber while she was studying with friends at a coffee shop in Dallas. He had planned to study that same day, at that same time, at that very same coffee shop, so when he saw a group of cute girls studying at a community table, he walked right over and sat across from them. After striking up conversation, Grant found himself drawn to Amber, so much so that he asked her out in front of her friends before he left the shop! She couldn’t say no to such courage, and it didn’t take long for her to recognize that the interest was mutual.

The two dated long distance through nursing school and medical residency and found themselves at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas on a dreary December day. Amber thought that they were going to see the Nutcracker in Fort Worth and was curious when Grant wanted to take a walk around the park in the rain. Fortunately for them, the park was empty with the exception of a sole musician playing on the auditorium stage. As they approached the musician, Grant asked him to play their song, and as they danced alone in the park, Grant told Amber the things he loved about her and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. At the end of the song Grant got down on one knee and proposed and Amber said an emphatic “yes”! From there we strolled around the park and made our way to a greenhouse in downtown Dallas for an engagement session with a break for hot coffee. Meanwhile, all of Grant and Amber’s family and friends were gathering in secret at Grant’s apartment for a surprise celebration. We told the two that we would plan to take photos in the lounge of the complex and that we would meet them there. When they arrived to the lounge they were greeted by a group of their loved ones eager to hear the story and celebrate. We popped champagne overlooking the Dallas skyline to celebrate with the happy couple. We are so excited for Grant and Amber and cannot wait to photograph their wedding in April!
